Most people look for the inspiration in order to live life to its fullest. Every day I’m inspired by women of color, from the hair products like Shea Moisture that can hold and style our kinky curly hair. Every day I set goals for myself, whether it’s long term or short term goals. I believe that I will be a successful entrepreneur. I’m planning on starting my own hair products business, I will have hair products like shampoo, conditioner hair cream and oil for women of color. Companies like Shea Moisture, As I Am, Mielle Organics are very inspiring and motivating to me because they are black owned businesses and they have healthy natural ingredients unlike other hair products that may cause damages. My business will inspire young women of color because we are always excluded from almost everything in this world especially our hair. My goal is to make women feel comfortable in their own skin and hair. One of my assignments throughout the semester that motivated me was the “Not Seen on TV”, I wrote about Pipilottie Rist-Ever is Over All. I had fun writing my paper because there was a woman in the video which was so powerful to me. This video was very inspiring because it positively describes the negative aspects of femininity, which have been rejected by women themselves. Being a woman and starting a business is very powerful, just like in the video the women in the video is showing a great explanation of how us women are supposed to feel. In the video what’s most inspiring to me is a young woman walking carefree, it’s like no one can tell her what to do. That’s something that I look at because most people care what others think, when I start my business I’m going to do something that I love to make women feel beautiful and happy. I believe that all my hair products will make women’s hair feel nice, soft, healthy and looking shiny. I will make sure all my products are organic and sulfate and silicone free, which will help maintain the natural oils on the scalp and hair that will leave your hair with more moisture. Another assignment that is inspiring was “My Photo Collection” because I got to write about my favorite photo themes. Photography is very important, when starting a business I would need to take pictures of my hair products to advertise so people can buy. My goal is to have great photo quality so that it can attract audience, I believe that I will be my own photography because one of my favorite picture that I wrote about was the first photo. The first photo was very pretty because of the pretty colors, I loved how soft and glowy the picture looked that I took, to where all my products will be pink and purple to feel girly and loved so that the women that are buying my products will love their hair. The last assignment that was very motivating to me was the “Plotting My First Day at Work” writing this paper was a eye opening experience because being late for anything is not fun and may come with consequences. My goal is to always be on time for my business whether it’s for business meets, new product release to make my customers happy and shipping packages out to customers. I wrote about how late I was on my first day at work, something that I didn’t see coming was getting pulled over which was my consequence. For my business my main focus is my customers is to always make them happy, I don’t want angry customers and not to have returns because of bad quality.
