Not Seen on TV

The video I decided to write about is Pipilotti Rist- Ever is Over All. What’s happening in this video is that you see a woman proudly striding down the sidewalk, she carries a long flower. In both videos as you can see how slow and peaceful everything is moving and it created a sense that’s calming and lull that is get disrupted when. Suddenly you hear the sound burst of violence, full force swings smashes into a parked car window with the tall flower she has in her hand. The women happily smiles while thats happening. The flower is so strong and powerful to do such damage. Meanwhile the audience see a female officer approaching the scene smiling and salutes her in approval.

I think this video to me is very powerful because us as women in order for us to be happy we need to release our anger by destroy and break things just to feel good. In the video the flower represents the beauty nature of the female and her smashing the car windows represents the power of the feminine. She is smiling as she is smashing car windows, which represents the release of joy. As you can see in the video a female officer walk besides her, you would think she would get stopped. The officer looked at her and smile and gave her that woman the woman eye power in approval. This video has a strong feminist message, the car could represent a male; she probably was heart broken by someone and released her anger. In the video the women shows something organic and beautiful but has a calming effect. The music helped put the message pieces together, the soothing background music and everything moving in slow motion. Nature also work through the music as the flowers move freely.
